Phishing via crafted open redirect
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Open redirect in IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 allows remote attackers to route victims from trusted URLs to malicious sites. IBM has not published the affected request handler or the validation error that permits an untrusted redirect destination. Exploitation requires persuading a victim to open a crafted website; the redirect can support phishing and sensitive-information theft.
