Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked form user ID
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Privilege escalation in Mauro Cassani ACPT (Premium) 2.0.66 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over any WordPress account. The submit() form handler accepts an attacker-controlled target user ID from an anonymous submission and passes it to wp_update_user() without authorization, permitting the account's email address and password to be overwritten. Exploitation requires a public ACPT user form that permits anonymous submissions; targeting an administrator account grants control of the WordPress site.
