Authenticated command execution via automatic Bash tool dispatch
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Command execution in zhayujie CowAgent 2.0 and 2.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run shell commands via web chat messages. The default agent-enabled POST /message flow sends user content to AgentStreamExecutor, which dispatches model-selected Bash calls to subprocess.run with shell=True without approval. Exposure requires web-channel access, agent mode, and tool-calling model behavior; commands run with the CowAgent process user's privileges.
