Authenticated file write via unchecked skill name
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Path traversal in CowAgent 2.0 and 2.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to write skill content outside the skills directory. The _add_url and _add_package methods join an attacker-controlled skill name to the workspace skills path, then rename or copy downloaded content there without rejecting traversal segments or checking the resolved boundary. Exploitation requires LinkAI cloud management and permission to send a SKILL add action; writes reach sibling workspace paths and can overwrite agent state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
