CVE-2026-15303Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Unauthenticated account takeover via unverified email lookup

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Authentication bypass in 6Storage Rentals 2.27.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to assume any WordPress user's identity by email. The unauthenticated six_storage_create_wp_user AJAX handler resolves the attacker-supplied email to a user, then calls wp_set_current_user and wp_set_auth_cookie without a nonce, capability check, credential check, or ownership verification. Network access to the public WordPress AJAX action and knowledge of an existing email address are sufficient to create that user's authenticated session, including an administrator session.
