Stored XSS via unsanitized admin settings
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Stored XSS in WPvivid Backup for MainWP 0.9.33 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script through admin settings. The plugin saves administrator-supplied setting values without sufficient sanitization and later renders them without output escaping, so script markup executes in pages displaying the stored values. An administrator-level account and either a multisite installation or disabled unfiltered_html are required; executed script can read or alter data in a viewer's WordPress session.
