CVE-2026-15276Public exploit

Process crash via unchecked metadata length prefixes

Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Denial of service in Symphonia 0.1 through 0.6.0 allows local users to exhaust process memory via crafted audio metadata. The Vorbis, FLAC, and ID3v2 metadata parsers trust 32-bit length prefixes and allocate matching buffers without bounding them against remaining input. An application must parse a malicious audio file; the resulting multi-gigabyte allocation can panic the process or trigger an operating-system OOM kill.
