Contributor-level customer-record disclosure via unchecked admin shortcode
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Simply Schedule Appointments before 1.6.12.11 allows remote authenticated users to disclose appointment records. The administrative appointment-listing shortcode omits a capability check, and its per-user scoping fails open for non-staff accounts. A Contributor account with edit_posts can invoke the shortcode through the render-shortcode REST route or a draft preview and read all customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, notes, and appointment details site-wide.
