Subscriber-level Google indexing manipulation via unchecked AJAX
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Missing authorization in Search Atlas SEO before 2.6.12 allows remote authenticated users to alter Google indexing through WordPress AJAX. The metasync_send_giapi AJAX handler accepts a site URL and submit-or-remove action without verifying a capability or nonce, then invokes Google with the site’s stored service-account credentials. Any logged-in account, including a Subscriber, can submit or remove site URLs from Google’s index and consume quota when Google Indexing is configured.
