Higher-privilege JavaScript execution via unescaped post titles
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Stored XSS in Hook & Filter Nested Pages before 3.2.15 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in an administrator session. The administrative page-tree listing inserts stored post titles into double-quoted row attributes without HTML attribute escaping, letting a crafted title close the attribute and add an event handler. The verified Editor path requires WordPress Multisite; Contributor or Author access also reaches the sink when the plugin is enabled for that post type, and execution requires a higher-privileged user to view or interact with the row.
