Payment bypass via unbound PayPal capture verification
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Payment bypass in Metagauss RegistrationMagic before 6.0.9.5 allows remote attackers to finalize paid registrations with an unrelated PayPal capture. The server-side handler accepts any PayPal capture whose status is COMPLETED without matching its amount, currency, payee, or prior use to the pending registration. PayPal SDK checkout must be configured, and one genuine low-value capture lets remote attackers activate an expensive registration and replay the capture.
