One-byte freed-memory read via shutdown hash cleanup
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Use-after-free in the Open5GS 2.7.7 AMF allows local users to trigger a one-byte read from freed heap memory during shutdown. The amf_context_final and ogs_sbi_context_final teardown paths free pool-backed memory before ogs_hash_destroy rehashes keys that still point into those pools. Triggering requires high local privileges, a SIGTERM during UE authentication, and in-flight AUSF or UDM callbacks; the read occurs while the process is already exiting.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
