Stored XSS via unescaped global color settings
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Stored XSS in WPDeveloper Essential Addons for Elementor 6.6.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in visitors' browsers. The save_global_values handler writes contributor-controlled Reading Progress colors to eael_global_settings without a capability check, and the global renderer inserts them into quoted style attributes without escaping. Contributor access can poison the option, but publication by an authorized user and pointer movement over the rendered bar are needed to execute the script in a visitor's session.
