Notification workflow disruption via unchecked AJAX reset
Published Aug 2, 2026 · Updated Aug 2, 2026
Missing authorization in Five Star Restaurant Reservations before 2.7.23 allows remote authenticated users to erase notification rules. The rtb_reset_notifications AJAX action accepts a bookings-page nonce and resets the notification configuration to null without checking manage_options. A Booking Manager can retrieve the nonce from the permitted bookings page and disable automated booking notifications despite lacking Settings access.
