Application crash via PAX parser boundary overread

Out-of-bounds read in libarchive on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Hardened Images allows local users to crash archive-processing applications. The PAX SUN.holesdata parser dereferences the byte after a caller-bounded value when the final numeric field consumes all remaining bytes. Exploitation requires a crafted tar archive to be parsed through a user action or application workflow; code execution is theoretically possible, but Red Hat reports a localized crash as the common outcome.
