Unauthenticated file read via file_id path traversal
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Path traversal in Direct Download for WooCommerce 1.19 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files via file_id. The top-level include path accepts the file_id URL segment without constraining it to a product's configured download, while the ownership check confirms only that some eligible product exists. Exploitation requires at least one free, virtual, downloadable WooCommerce product and exposes files readable by the web-server process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
