Unauthenticated file copy via exposed restore secrets
Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026
Arbitrary directory copy in Dev Easel Demi 0.0.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to copy server files through the restore handler. The handle_restore_step AJAX path trusts a restore key and signed state envelope stored under the web-accessible wp-content/uploads/demi-backup-state directory. An administrator must first start a restore, creating the exposed key and step token; the attacker can then direct copies to attacker-controlled server paths.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
