Subscriber-to-Administrator escalation via attacker-controlled API response
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Privilege escalation in bLoyal: Loyalty & Promotions by bLoyal 3.1.611.78 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to become administrators. The unprotected save configuration actions let subscribers replace the Loyalty Engine API URL, while bloyal_customer_auto_login trusts Customer.ExternalId returned by that endpoint when setting an authentication cookie. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to supply any WordPress user ID through the public /cart route and take over the associated account, including an Administrator account.
