Path traversal in IBM Aspera for desktop 1.0.5 through 1.0.19 allows remote attackers to write files outside the selected download directory. IBM has not disclosed the affected file-handling locus or how transferred pathnames bypass destination-boundary enforcement. Exploitation requires user interaction with a transfer, and the established consequence is an out-of-directory file write under the app's filesystem permissions.
