CVE-2026-14971

Unintended API operations via unsafe configuration

Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026

Configuration weakness in IBM PowerVM NovaLink allows local users to perform unintended API operations under non-default conditions. IBM identifies the NovaLink APIs as the locus but has not published which setting is unsafe or how it permits those operations. Exploitation requires local access, high privileges, a high-complexity path, and a non-default configuration; the disclosed consequence is limited to unintended or unauthorized API operations.
