CVE-2026-14967Network attack vector

Out-of-directory artifact write via unresolved traversal

Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026

Path traversal in BBOT 1.1.7 through 2.8.6 allows remote attackers to write artifacts outside the output directory via a crafted URL. The github_workflows module checks a CODE_REPOSITORY-derived path without resolving parent-directory components, then writes the downloaded artifact to the resulting path. An operator must run the module against the crafted repository; traversal is limited to two directory levels, and configuration determines the destination.
