Privilege escalation via arbitrary role assignment
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Privilege escalation in Frauscher FDS102 2.11.0 through 2.13.3 allows remote authenticated users to create privileged accounts via /api/user/add.php. The user-creation endpoint accepts caller-supplied role values and applies them to new accounts without enforcing server-side role restrictions for the requesting session. Any low-privileged session that can reach the FDS web API can mint an administrator-level account and gain full application privileges without another exploit.
