Subscriber-level reply overwrite via unchecked reply ownership
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
Incorrect authorization in JoomSky JS Help Desk before 3.1.4 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite any support-ticket reply. The saveeditedreply action accepts an attacker-chosen sequential reply ID and updates that reply without verifying that it belongs to the ticket whose nonce was supplied. Subscriber access and ownership of one ticket suffice to obtain a nonce; the overwrite changes the victim reply's message while retaining its original user and ticket identifiers.
