Contributor-level Page overwrite via precedence-flawed authorization
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Sync Post With Other Site before 1.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to create, publish, or overwrite Pages. The /sps/v1/data REST route's operator-precedence flaw lets edit_posts satisfy the authorization expression even when edit_pages is absent. Contributor-level access is sufficient to publish new Pages or replace existing Page content, including content owned by higher-privileged users.
