CVE-2026-14886Network attack vector

Cross-namespace entity deletion via unchecked storage removal

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Authorization bypass in HashiCorp Vault Enterprise allows remote authenticated users to permanently delete entities across namespaces. The identity entity batch-delete handler checks an entity's namespace before removing its in-memory record but omits that check before deleting storage keyed only by entity ID. Access to the endpoint in any namespace is sufficient; a foreign entity remains visible until identity storage reloads, when its loss becomes permanent.
