Contributor-level event data overwrite via unchecked post ID
Published Aug 1, 2026 · Updated Aug 1, 2026
IDOR in Nexcess Event Tickets and Registration before 5.29.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite another owner's seating data. The layout update and removal AJAX actions accept a caller-controlled postId after nonce validation but omit the capability check needed to verify access to the referenced event. Contributor-level access and an event using Seating are required; successful requests rewrite layouts, capacity, ticket stock, and attendee seat labels.
