Username enumeration and password guessing via quiz login
Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Information exposure in Quiz and Survey Master before 11.1.3 allows remote attackers to enumerate usernames through its quiz login. The qsm_ajax_login action returns distinct errors for nonexistent and valid usernames, accepts repeated guesses without rate limiting, and omits the standard failed-login event. This unauthenticated action requires no nonce, enabling password guessing without creating a session or triggering brute-force protection plugins.
