Authenticated SSRF via weak URL validation
Published Jul 5, 2026 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
SSRF in AI Anytime Awesome-MCP-Server allows remote authenticated users to issue HTTP requests through the mcp-wiki tool. The read_wikipedia_article function passes its URL argument to requests.get after checking only that the string starts with http, without restricting destinations, IP ranges, ports, or redirects. Low-privileged MCP tool access suffices to contact attacker-selected endpoints from the server's network context.
