Code execution via unsafe pickle cache loading
Published Jul 5, 2026 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in AD-Security AD Miner 1.9.0 allows local users to execute Python code by loading a crafted cache file. The request_a function in ad_miner/scripts/analyse_cache.py passes the sys.argv[1]-selected path to retrieveCacheEntry, which calls pickle.load without establishing file trust. Exploitation requires access to supply and load a crafted local cache file, and payload code runs as the account executing AD Miner.
