CVE-2026-14673Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via uncleared index-expression search path

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Untrusted search path in PostgreSQL amcheck before 18.6, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24 allows remote authenticated users to execute functions. The amcheck sandbox evaluates expression-index functions without first clearing search_path, so SQL- or PL/pgSQL-language functions can resolve attacker-selected objects. Exploitation requires EXECUTE on an amcheck extension function, a hostile search path, and a qualifying expression index; code runs as that index's owner.
