CVE-2026-1464

Tar header bounds bypass via integer overflow

Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026

Integer overflow in App Manager before 4.0.4 allows local users to bypass PAX header bounds while the app processes a crafted tar archive. TarUtils.parsePaxHeaders adds totalRead and restLen in a signed integer comparison, so wraparound can make an oversized PAX value appear within headerSize. Reaching the parser requires active user interaction with the archive, and the bypass can make the parser consume data beyond the declared header record.
