Unauthenticated membership manipulation via unsigned Stripe webhooks
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Improper missing-value handling in Simple Membership 4.7.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter memberships through forged Stripe webhooks. The Stripe webhook handler verifies signatures only when stripe-webhook-signing-secret is nonempty, then otherwise trusts attacker-supplied event data. The secret is empty by default, exposing unauthenticated sites to unpaid membership reactivation or legitimate subscription cancellation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
