CVE-2026-14604Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via aliased mesh-channel buffers

Published Jul 3, 2026 · Updated Jul 3, 2026

Double free in Assimp 6.0.0 through 6.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to crash an integrating process with a crafted PLY model. SceneCombiner::CopyScene flat-copies mesh channel pointers, then skips deep-copying UV or color buffers when a channel is empty or its mesh has zero vertices, so both scenes own the same allocation. Reachability requires an application to import the crafted PLY data and pass that scene to ExportToBlob; the published AddressSanitizer reproduction terminates the process, while code execution is not demonstrated.
