CVE-2026-14570Network attack vector

Private-key recovery via fixed-high-bit random values

Published Jul 5, 2026 · Updated Jul 5, 2026

Insufficient randomness in Crypt::DSA before 1.22 allows attackers to recover DSA private keys from collected signatures. Crypt::DSA::Util::makerandom forces each generated value's high bit, biasing signing nonces and private keys instead of sampling uniformly. An attacker needs the public key and a modest number of signatures produced under the affected key; a lattice attack then recovers that key.
