Unsafe deserialization in IBM WebSphere Application Server traditional 8.5 and 9.0 allows remote attackers to bypass authentication or execute code. IBM identifies pre-authentication processing of untrusted serialized data as the cause but does not disclose the receiving endpoint, class, or deserialization operation. No credentials or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation permits authentication bypass or arbitrary code execution in the server context.
