Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked password reset
Published Aug 7, 2026 · Updated Aug 7, 2026
Missing authorization in ThemetechMount TrueBooker 1.2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to reset any WordPress user's password. The public admin_addcustomer AJAX handler trusts truebooker_wp_user_id and passes password_1 to wp_set_password() without verifying login, ownership, or edit_users capability. The unauthenticated hook exposes arbitrary accounts, and resetting an administrator password enables account takeover.
