Forged conversion events via unauthenticated AJAX handler
Published Aug 1, 2026 · Updated Aug 1, 2026
Improper access control in GrowCommerce Pixel Tag Manager for WooCommerce before 2.2.1 allows remote attackers to submit forged conversion events. The pmw_process_conversion_events AJAX action accepts attacker-controlled order, value, item, and platform fields without authorization, then forwards a Purchase event through configured server-side advertising APIs with stored site credentials. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires at least one enabled Facebook, TikTok, or Pinterest Conversion API integration with a pixel ID and access token; the bounded impact is corruption of advertising conversion data.
