CVE-2026-1418Public exploitHinoki check available

Process memory corruption via unchecked subtitle expansion

Published Jan 26, 2026 · Updated Jan 26, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in GPAC 2.0 through 2.4.0 allows local users to corrupt process memory by importing a crafted SRT subtitle. The gf_text_import_srt_bifs conversion loop expands non-UTF-8 bytes into a fixed 2,048-byte stack buffer while incrementing its output index without a bounds check. Exploitation requires local invocation of MP4Box's BIFS scene-import path and can corrupt the process stack or interrupt media processing.
