Same-origin policy bypass via fail-open HTML sanitization
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Insufficient input validation in Google Chrome SanitizerAPI before 150.0.7871.47 allows remote attackers to bypass same-origin policy. Element.setHTML() inserts a parsed DocumentFragment into the live DOM when Sanitizer::Create rejects an invalid SanitizerConfig, leaving active event-handler attributes unsanitized. A user must open crafted HTML with the Sanitizer API enabled; page-controlled handlers then execute in a context that should have been separated by origin policy.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
