Privilege escalation via undisclosed extension policy failure
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Insufficient policy enforcement in Google Chrome Extensions before 150.0.7871.47 allows remote attackers to escalate privileges via crafted HTML. The restricted Chromium issue leaves the affected extension policy and the incorrect enforcement operation undisclosed. Exploitation requires prior renderer compromise and user interaction with attacker-controlled HTML, after which privileges outside the renderer can be obtained.
