Stored XSS via unescaped ellipsis output
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Stored XSS in WPKube Advanced Excerpt before 4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in visitors' browsers. The plugin stores the administrator-controlled Ellipsis setting without sanitization and emits it unescaped when a long post is trimmed into a front-end excerpt. Exploitation requires administrator access without unfiltered_html and a visitor to load a homepage or archive that renders the affected excerpt.
