Stored XSS via unescaped lightbox captions
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Stored XSS in the PhotoSwipe WordPress plugin through 4.1.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through crafted link titles. The default addCaptionHTMLFn assigns the link-derived title directly to the caption element's innerHTML without escaping. Author-level access is sufficient to store the payload, but a visitor must click the affected link before it executes in that visitor's browser.
