Heap disclosure or crash via stale partition pointer

Heap use-after-free in libblkid on affected Red Hat platforms allows attackers to disclose heap data or crash probing with crafted block media. The nested probers retain a parent entry pointer while partition additions can reallocate the contiguous parts array, then dereference the stale pointer. Triggering requires local presentation of a specially structured disk image or block device; automatic root-level udev or udisks probing needs no user interaction and limits reported impact to an eight-byte read or service interruption.
