Uncontrolled recursion in Bouncy Castle for Java before 1.85 allows remote attackers to crash applications via crafted ASN.1 input. LazyEncodedSequence forces deferred sequences with a new ASN1InputStream at the maximum depth, so each force resets the nesting guard and a whole-tree walk reaches StackOverflowError. The same flaw affects Java LTS before 2.73.12 and BC-FJA 1.0.X before 1.0.2.7, 2.0.X before 2.0.2, and 2.1.X before 2.1.3 when applications lazily parse attacker-controlled ASN.1.
