CVE-2026-13473Network attack vector

Remote code execution via improper bounds checking

Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in IBM Storage Protect Client 8.1.0.0 through 8.1.27.1 and 8.2.0.0 through 8.2.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute code. IBM attributes the overwrite to improper bounds checking but has not disclosed the affected client component, input field, or parsing path. No authentication or user interaction is required, but exploitation has high complexity; consequences include system compromise or a service crash.
