WebView data interception via permissive certificate matching
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Improper certificate validation in PayRange 7.0.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to intercept WebView data through on-path TLS spoofing. The app bypasses Android's SSL trust chain and accepts even self-signed certificates when subject and issuer common names match hard-coded domain and issuer patterns. An attacker must redirect traffic to an attacker-controlled endpoint; successful interception exposes credentials, payment exchanges, and other data entered in the WebView.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
