Authenticated cross-namespace access via annotation injection
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Improper input validation in Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization 4.21 and later allows remote authenticated users to access cross-namespace networks. The network annotation generator copies a tenant-controlled networkName verbatim into the launcher pod's Multus default-network annotation, so JSON is parsed as a NetworkSelectionElement array. Exploitation requires kubevirt.io:edit permission and the cluster-admin-only ExternalNetResourceInjection gate, which is off by default; impact is limited to reachable services and segments not protected by NetworkPolicy.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
