Account impersonation via disabled TLS verification
Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026
Improper certificate validation in Dancer::Plugin::Auth::Google 0.07 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to forge application logins. The auth_google_init function constructs Furl with SSL_verify_mode set to SSL_VERIFY_NONE, so token and userinfo HTTPS responses are accepted without authenticating Google. A network-positioned attacker between the Dancer application and Google can substitute both responses and establish a session as an arbitrary Google identity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
