PHP execution via widget file write
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Code injection in Royal Addons for Elementor before 1.7.1066 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP via Widget Builder. The plugin does not sanitize custom widget markup before writing it into a file that is later executed, so attacker-supplied PHP embedded in the widget definition runs on the server. Reachability requires the manage_options capability; on WordPress Multisite, subsite administrators can hit the flaw even without the broader code-execution privileges normally limited to super admins.
