Unauthenticated import sabotage via failed-status bypass
Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Missing authorization in StellarWP The Events Calendar before 6.16.5.1 allows remote attackers to sabotage Event Aggregator imports. The import-state REST route accepts unauthenticated status updates and exempts the failed status from its batch-hash check, changing a pending record to failed while storing attacker-controlled hidden-comment fields. Exploitation requires a pending import and discoverable import ID; the comment is escaped in the administrative view and is not rendered publicly.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
